Description:  Charoite is an opulent swirl of purples and shimmering white.  There are not many kinds of purple rocks that occur naturally, making charoite a rare find.  This material was recently discovered in Russia in 1978, and takes its name from the Chary river, where it was found.  To date, there have not been any other discoveries of charoite, except for one area in China, which has a very different appearance.  Often mistaken for a man-made stone, a knowledgeable eye would recognize it immediately, as there is nothing else that even resembles charoite.

  The seventh chakra is called the crown chakra, symbolized by a lotus flower with a thousand petals that form a crown.  Bodily concerns are left behind and the focus of energy resides in the space just above the head.  It is interesting to note that the seventh chakra hovers in the same area as a halo.  Considered to be the gateway to the universe, the crown chakra focuses on our desire to reach beyond our physical selves in the search for our creator, as well as true enlightenment.
